Maintenance work on the facade wall of the Herod Atticus theatre in Athens has been completed by the Athens Ephorate of Antiquities, it was announced Wednesday.
The wall runs along the front entrance of the theater and on the interior of the theater looks down on the stage.
The work stabilized sections of the stone wall that were in danger of detachment, endangering visitors. The scaffolding than ran along the whole facade and was a fixture of the monument in the last twenty years has been removed.
Maintenance work on the wall began in 2015 and finished in November this year.
